About Manu

Picture
Manu is a Mexican tattoo artist who spent most of his childhood in Mexico City. At the age of twenty, driven by curiosity and a deep desire to explore, he set out to travel the world.

After several months in India, Manu decided to get his first tattoo. He knew two things for certain: it had to be meaningful, and it had to be done with intention and precision. After an extensive search, he found the right artist--Dean, a South African tattooer working from his balcony overlooking the ocean. The setting, energy, and privacy of the space were unlike any tattoo studio Manu had encountered before. He felt an immediate connection.

After a fifteen-hour session, Manu received his first tattoo. More than the artwork itself, what stayed with him was the experience—the presence, the ritual, the exchange. It felt less like a tattoo session and more like a ceremony. Two days later, he made a life-defining decision: to become a tattoo artist himself. From that moment on, he committed to studying, training, and refining his craft.

Fifteen years have passed since then. Throughout his journey, Manu has had the opportunity to learn from and work alongside respected artists such as Oscar Akermo at Bang Bang Studio, New York, Coreh López (Spain), Dante Alighiero in Brazil, Dean Leron in South Africa, among many others who helped shape his artistic and technical foundation.

Over the years, Manu has collaborated with international brands including Playboy, InkMx, and Maxwell, while tattooing in cities and destinations such as Ibiza, Berlin, Zurich, New York, Los Angeles, India, Thailand, Bali and México.
Today, Manu has established his private tattoo studio on the outskirts of Mexico City, surrounded by forest and wildlife. Birds, squirrels, and raccoons are part of the daily rhythm of the space—an environment designed to inspire calm, focus, and connection.

To date, Manu has completed over 15,000 tattoos, working with both handmade and machine techniques, depending on the design and intention of each piece. Above all, his goal has always been to create a session that feels personal and meaningful—one where trust, presence, and connection transform the tattoo into an experience that stays with you for life.
